Time’s Cruisin’ By!
The day is fast approaching, and we’re excited! We decided on one small change, though.
You see, Sylvie and I have been speaking all over the place lately. We just came back from Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and we’re leaving next week for London, UK (we’re speaking at Wembley).
So all this traveling, in addition to working feverishly on our business and making wedding preparations, we hadn’t the chance to spend much time with the kids. (Sylvie has 3 kids: Tyler, 13, Paige, 14 and Celeste, 16. I have one from my previous marriage: Megan, 21.)
So in light of this, and instead of Italy, we thought about the idea that as a family, we should make this a “family” honeymoon, where Sylvie and I can have some alone time as well as bring the kids to spend time with them.
What are we going to do, then?
We’re going on the cruise, that’s what!
Yup, we’re going to go on a family cruise, possibly in the Bahamas, tropics, Caribean, etc. That way, we’ll have some time to spend with the kids while be able to spend some alone time, too.
Most cruises, especially the larger ones, have activities, games, restaurants, nightlife, decks with pools, spas, you name it. And I can tell you, after all this work and travelling, the time off is going to be a much needed break!
(Heck, we’re leaving for the UK once again immediately after we return (almost 2 days later), and then, the week after, speaking the same week at not one but two seminars! (Baltimore and Vegas again.)
So this is going to be a great vacation for the entire family…
Here are the details. We take a plane to Miami on August 19th. We leave the port in Miami on the cruise ship, and trave from Miami to the following ports of call: Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel (near Cancun, Mexico), then back to Miami on August 26th.
I’ve been to Cancun (and to Cozumel) a few times, and Sylvie is fond of Jamaica (she’s heavy into reggae), so this is going to be a beautiful trip to create wonderful and lasting memories.
(And the family’s pretty excited about it, too!)
All aboard!
