The day is fast approaching, and we’re exci­ted! We deci­ded on one small change, though.

You see, Syl­vie and I have been spea­king all over the place lately. We just came back from Los Ange­les and Las Vegas, and we’re lea­ving next week for Lon­don, UK (we’re spea­king at Wembley).

So all this tra­ve­ling, in addi­tion to wor­king feve­rishly on our busi­ness and making wed­ding pre­pa­ra­tions, we hadn’t the chance to spend much time with the kids. (Syl­vie has 3 kids: Tyler, 13, Paige, 14 and Celeste, 16. I have one from my pre­vious marriage: Megan, 21.)

So in light of this, and ins­tead of Italy, we thought about the idea that as a family, we should make this a “family” honey­moon, where Syl­vie and I can have some alone time as well as bring the kids to spend time with them.

What are we going to do, then?

We’re going on the cruise, that’s what!

Yup, we’re going to go on a family cruise, pos­sibly in the Baha­mas, tro­pics, Cari­bean, etc. That way, we’ll have some time to spend with the kids while be able to spend some alone time, too.

Most crui­ses, espe­cially the lar­ger ones, have acti­vi­ties, games, res­tau­rants, night­life, decks with pools, spas, you name it. And I can tell you, after all this work and tra­ve­lling, the time off is going to be a much nee­ded break!

(Heck, we’re lea­ving for the UK once again imme­dia­tely after we return (almost 2 days later), and then, the week after, spea­king the same week at not one but two semi­nars! (Bal­ti­more and Vegas again.)

So this is going to be a great vaca­tion for the entire family…

Here are the details. We take a plane to Miami on August 19th. We leave the port in Miami on the cruise ship, and trave from Miami to the follo­wing ports of call: Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cay­man, Cozu­mel (near Can­cun, Mexico), then back to Miami on August 26th.

I’ve been to Can­cun (and to Cozu­mel) a few times, and Syl­vie is fond of Jamaica (she’s heavy into reg­gae), so this is going to be a beau­ti­ful trip to create won­der­ful and las­ting memories.

(And the family’s pretty exci­ted about it, too!)
