The Most Beautiful Day

Beautiful DayLet me introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Fortin! The wedding was absolutely beautiful. We will post our thoughts in the coming days — we are still grinning from ear to ear, and want to take some much needed time off.

But I wanted to quickly share some special moments with you. There are two sets of pictures (because there are so many, please allow the thumbnails to load.) Click on the thumbnails below to enlarge.

The first set of pictures are taken by Mary Mazzullo, who’s company was also the one taking the professional pictures of our wedding.

[…] Wedding Photos Are Up! — Today, 08:33 PM On August 13th, 2006, I have finally married my best friend, my confidante, my business partner, my lover, my Soul Mate… Michel Fortin And Sylvie Charrier » Blog Archive » The Most Beautiful Day […]

  2. Comment by Dietrich Mckenzie on August 15th, 2006

That was just the most moving day I have been blessed to have been apart of. Through the kindness and friendship of Michel & Sylvie, I was able to experiance something born from beauty and dreams. These photos show the joy experianced by everyone who attended. Thankyou again, for making me feel like I was apart of your family. God bless you and your family, may your lives be filled with memories made to cherish.

  3. Comment by Yanik Silver on August 15th, 2006

Michel & Sylvie — Sorry Missy and I couldn’t make it up there. The little guy is tough to travel with. The photos are great! The wedding looks amazing! And of course, you two are totally beaming with happiness.

Look forward to seeing you as husband and wife at the next Internet marketing get together.

    - Yanik (and Missy)

Michel and Sylvie, it is with deep appreciation to have been the officiant at your wedding. You are two beings that shine your love to all and which has touched my heart as well. May you be blessed all the days of your lives with the richness that your leadership has shown us all that were privileged to be witnesses to your betrothal. Love will prevail. Deep Peace, Kathleen

  5. Comment by Mary Mazzullo on August 15th, 2006

Sylvie and Michel — Raye and I are thinking about moving to Ottawa! We arrived Thursday morning, and from the moment we set foot into the Canadian air, we experienced incredible moments.

The Light and Sound show at the Parliament was a spectacular surprise, petting Odie — the Royal Canadian Mounted Police horse that his Mountie owner invited us to spend time with, the changing of the guard — not only at the Parliament, but also the Bagpipe processional guard change at the Governor General’s residence.

We enjoyed the Aborigine Indian reserve, and the basin in that beautiful river, with its amazing bridge spans…the getting lost in a neighborhood in Quebec, and receiving directions from the friendliest residents.…it was all quite the adventure.

The most amazing joy was your donwtown! What an alive atmosphere. Bikers and elderly couiples holding hands, dogs tied to car handles watching their owners enjoy a luncheon at one of the numerous enjoyable sidewalk cafe’s, the open air fresh fruti/vegetable/flower markets, the many coffee shops and tea shops.

Dinner at Mezzanote, with Mark (?) Mc Dermott — Torrie Spelling’s (gorgeous, by the way) husband and his entourage at the next table.….and DJ Dave and his entourage out on the outside patio.…..

And the crowning event — SUNDAY’S WEDDING EVENT!!! It could not have been more perfect. The ladies are all so beautiful of spirit, of heart, and the most gracious and fun group to hang out with in the afternoon.
The location was exquisite, and so spot on perfect for your celebration of love and life.

Every single detail was well planned and came off flawlessly, as if it just simpley unfolded before us.

Robby — Bravo! The music was soothing and inspiring.
Armand — and Craig — Can you get my car for me?

Michel and Sylvie — Wow — The day was so perfect and so incredibly You — it was an awesome experience.

Much love and laughter to you ~ Mary Mazzullo and Raye Whaley

Thank you for sharing this amazing experience with us so closely after the wedding. John and I really wanted to be there to support you but our schedule is crazy this summer. You can see your souls shine, even in pictures. A thousand years of happiness to you both.

  7. Comment by Howard Tiano on August 15th, 2006

Thanks for sharing your day with us through tose pictures! It surely does look magical! Was that a Rennaisance theme? And who was that guy with Sylvie with the goatee? ;-)

Congrats to you both, and a lifetime of happiness!

  8. Comment by Mary Mazzullo on August 15th, 2006

    Sylvie and Michel -
Mary Mazzullo here — half of your wedding and celebration photographers team.

Actually, the first 38 photos (including that great neck snuggle) on your blog are ones that I took on your wedding day. All of the rest of the photos from that point on are definitely from guest cameras.

I got up early Monday morning, did some quick editing and burned a small sampling of wedding day moments to a CD for you, so that you would have them right away. Then we made a special trip over to your Bridal Suite Hotel, The Hilton in Quebec, before we turned around, backtracked and headed off to the airport. I knew you would appreciate enjoying a few moments of your day, and having them to share.

When I saw you crediting them to your guests, I realized that I had not put a note on them when I left them with the concierge, or a name to let you know that it was actually Raye and myself that wanted to get some great shots to you for your blog. We knew your fans would enjoy seeing the moments that they were unable to be there to share.

Sorry about not letting you know that they were from us.

    Mary

  9. Comment by Ralph Zuranski on August 15th, 2006

    Dear Michel and Sylvie,
What great photos of such an awesome event. It is so encouraging to see a man and woman who are truly in love.

Finding your soul mate it one of the greatest joys in life. As life’s trials and tribulations test our commitment to choosing happiness, no matter what is happening in our families and businesses, a soul mate helps you make it through any challenge with flying colors.

One of these days, when my responsibility to take care of my parents in their last days and the new challenge to raise our two granddaughters are fulfilled, my soul mate and wife Janet and I would love to hoist a few brews in honor of your wedding, enjoy a beautiful sunset and laugh until we cry.

I just wish I had the opportunity to enjoy the love and happiness of this amazing event. It would have been a thrilling experience to document the event in photos but it looks like Mary and all the attendees did a phenomenal job. Congratulations you guys. Great job!

Michel and Sylvie, enjoy your honeymoon and the days to come. You are my heroes!

  10. Comment by Siriol Jameson on August 15th, 2006

    Dear Sylvie and Michel,
Congratulations on your fabulous day! Wish we could have been there to
experience a bit of your great happiness. The pictures are splendid.
Have fun and create wonderful memories together.

    Siriol

  11. Comment by Roxane Vézina on August 16th, 2006

What a spectacular day you two. :-)

I am very honored to have shared your special day with you and guests. I take with me so many happy memories from the beginning of your journey together on the road to your nuptials. The love that you share is a rare gift for all to see that was expressed beautifully. Every moment of your wedding was simply gorgeous…it still cannot compare to the beauty reflected in both your eyes and your love we all see you have for one another. To souls glowing in your expressions of love.

I wish so many things for you both; health, joy, happiness, but most importantly that every day continues to bring blessings of love toward each other and your wonderful family. I wish to thank you both for the opportunity to have witnessed something so moving and remarkable. Je vous aimes beaucoup et j’admire votre dévotion l’un à l’autre.

  12. Comment by Craig Perrine on August 16th, 2006

    Michel and Sylvie FORTIN!

I was there and I can still almost not believe how beautiful of a day your wedding was. The guests, the music, the moments, all perfect and unforgettable.

The pictures of you and Sylvie are pure magic… Mary’s shots and the others are such a treasure. I didn’t take any pictures and I’m so grateful others were on the job :)

Now, if I could just find a shot of me that doesn’t look like a drunken pirate.

Here’s one more toast to the bride and groom… and all who celebrated your long awaited big day. What a wonderful kick off for the exciting road ahead of you… even without a single picture, I’d never forget (or trade) a single moment.

Besides, I left with one of the wine glasses and it’s now sitting on my desk :)

All my best to you both!

    Craig

  13. Comment by Ted and Kim Crowder on August 16th, 2006

    To The Fortins,

That was a wonderful weekend, thanks so much for inviting us! I’ve been to over 1100 weddings and I’ve never seen two people more in love.

Bachelordom was a blast, the ceremony was beautiful, karaoke was lots of fun, the whole reception was great, the food was yummy, all your friends and family are wonderful and we were thrilled to be a part of your special day.

We even had an additional little 10 person party in the airport Monday with Kim putting on her belt as the entertainment. George took a picture!

We are going to go right now and register

    See you in Baltimore!

    Ted and Kim

The photos are gorgeous! It looks like it was so much fun! Congradulations you two; you are both amazing.

  15. Comment by DJ Dave Bernstein on August 18th, 2006

Michel has been caught fooling around, and dancing with another.….
I caught it with my own lens.… :-)

Seriously, I have a bunch more to share, when I get them converted.
Just now beginning to get my feet on the ground, after returning from Ottawa. Could have stayed another week — it was that gorgeous!

But even if it had hailed and the streets were full of slush, it still would have beautiful because of the guests of honor.

M + S, you know how I feel about you.
It’s in the poem I read, and in my heart.
    DJ Dave

(p.s. I promise — I have some more photo gems to share soon)

    Dear Mr. & Mrs. Fortin,

    Congratulations!

Beyond my congratulatory feelings are my many thanks to each of you for a day that I can only describe as magical…inspiring on a sould level and perfect in every way imaginable.

I’m not exclusively referring to the ceremonies, but as always, you attract many wonderful people I got to meet, or in some cases, see again.

And so I join the guy who resembles a drunken pirate in toasting to your future together, wishes of prosperity, happiness, health and well being.

    Here’s to your future!
    Peter

Thank you for the beautiful day you gave us!

Peter is right, it was magical (and romantic, and funny, and peaceful, and crazy (in a good way) at the same time.) It was just beautiful…

Thank you for making me part of your memories.

Michel, I sent you an email with the link to the pictures I took. Sorry Craig, I was not able to take a picture of you BEFORE your first glass of wine… :)
