Accomodations And Party!
Since we were both married before, we thought that a "bachelor" or "bachelorette" party would be a bit odd, although we're not totally against the idea. So we’re doing something special.
We decided to combine both, at the same time, and have a "prewedding party." Call it a "bachelordom" or "bachelorhood" party. Either way, it's going to be a lot of fun!
Since most of the guests are arriving (many from out of town) on Friday, August 10th, and since the rehearsal is on Saturday (and we want to be up and ready for Sunday, which is the "big day," we decided on making it that Friday night. That way, no exhaustion (or goodness forbid, hangovers) on wedding day.
So for most people who come from out of town are invited to stay at a local hotel near the wedding location (it’s in the South End of Ottawa):

The rehearsal will be on Saturday afternoon, and we’re going to go out for the “rehearsal dinner” with the wedding party, possibly get a little “tour” of Ottawa while we’re at it.
The pre-wedding party will thus be held on the same wedding weekend, that is Friday Night, August 11, 2006 at 8:00 PM Eastern.
Where?
Actually, it's right across the street from the hotel, at a famous live blues and jazz bar and restaurant called "Tuscon's Roadhouse." It’s one of the “hot spots” in town.
