маси и столовеAfter much wai­ting, we finally got our wed­ding video! We also had quite a few repro­du­ced, and will be sen­ding a copy of the CD in the mail with “thank you” cards in the next week or so.

(Hope­fully, we’ll have time… Fin­gers crossed!)

But while you’re wai­ting for your copy, and for others who weren’t there, we’ve deci­ded to post it online so you can watch it, too. From the arri­val of the guests, to the recep­tion, it was all cap­tu­red on video.

Just a quick update on what’s going on. Syl­vie has just finished her chemo two weeks ago. And we’re sure glad it’s over. (Radia­tion is only star­ting in another cou­ple of weeks, so this is giving us a bit of a break. Thank goodness!)

As one of the side-​​effects of chemo, Syl­vie had to deal with close to six months of what she calls “chemo brain.” In addi­tion to fee­ling slug­gish, tired and some­ti­mes nau­seous, Syl­vie had a very dif­fi­cult time con­cen­tra­ting. And her memory was short at times. This, accor­ding to doc­tors, is common.

Since her last chemo, howe­ver, Sylvie’s back in the swing of things… in full force. In fact, she’s wor­king on our new pro­duct, and it’s a doo­zie. Syl­vie will be pos­ting to her Breast Can­cer Vic­tory blog soon, so keep an eye out for it.

Since her ini­tial diag­no­sis, my beau­ti­ful wife has been wri­ting in a per­so­nal jour­nal on her com­pu­ter. During the wed­ding, the honey­moon and the nume­rous back-​​and-​​forth tests at the Ottawa Breast Can­cer cen­ter (on the Civic Hos­pi­tal cam­pus), she kept a brave face.

But after the dust sett­led from the wed­ding and cruise, and now with the offi­cial diag­no­sis and the impen­ding sur­gery, rea­lity has hit her hard.

Howe­ver, Syl­vie is upbeat about her upco­ming mas­tec­tomy on Mon­day, Sep­tem­ber 11. She jokingly refers to it as “when one of her twin towers will be falling.”

We’ve kept some infor­ma­tion pri­vate for a while for a variety of rea­sons. But now we’re making it public, and we also need to apo­lo­gize to some of you and also create some awa­re­ness about an impor­tant issue.

As we settle down from the honey­moon, life has thrown us a cur­ve­ball. I’ve already writ­ten about this on my per­so­nal blog, so rather than pos­ting it here, please visit my blog to read about this issue. One of the excur­sions we’ve done on our Carib­bean honey­moon cruise was to climb up the treache­rous “Dunn’s River Falls” in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

These falls are world-​​famous and one of the most in-​​demand excur­sions in the Jamai­can port of call. It was stun­ningly beau­ti­ful, and the falls were gorgeous.

But, the climb was not as easy as it seems. We had to climb up close to 1,000 feet up seve­ral steep rocks, while batt­ling strong, raging waters hit­ting against you at 40 miles an hour.

And guess what? It’s all cap­tu­red on video.

We just came back from our wee­klong wes­tern Carib­bean cruise on the Royal Caribbean’s Navi­ga­tor Of The Seas. It’s was fan­tas­tic! Syl­vie and I brought along my 21 year-​​old daugh­ter (from my pre­vious marriage), Megan, and Sylvie’s kids, Celeste (16), Paige (14) and Tyler (13), as we all went on a much anti­ci­pa­ted “familymoon.”

We sai­led from Miami to Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cay­man and then Mexico. I do have some can­did pho­tos to share with you, but first let me show some of the pro­fes­sio­nal shots taken by The Royal Carib­bean cruiseline’s staff.
